In the class, an in depth contribution to learning the necessary skills for writing, reading, speaking and speaking was ongoing throughout the whole semester. In the semester there were a vast majority of task given to enhance the skills mentioned. I learned grammar techniques to help write a clear and coherent essay. In the first days of our class sessions we went over accentuation rules that show where the correct area to locate the written accent goes. After the first days, the second topic we spoke of was sentence structure. In this class the professor utilized a handbooks practices reinforcing the topics learned. One of the topics we also covered and that I enjoyed the most were about the tenses of words. We read a story called, La siesta del martes whose author is Gabriel Garcia Marquez. This story reflected the usage of paste tense words, as we had been exposed to this topic and the right usage of it, the professor assigned an essay to express the knowledge of the topic (meeting writing and listening objectives). The teacher was always very passionate on each topic that was taught, but he put emphasis in this topic, due to the fact that so many students find it difficult to differentiate the tenses. An even closer connection to how this tenses can be used to narrate a story or point of view in real life was accomplished through a short story written on the importance of language, which shares alike values that I have. Language for me is fundamental in my every day, so it was very surprising to have a course designed with this value. As the course was reaching its end, we were assigned an oral presentation(MLO 1), where we would inform of a topic of our interest to our classmates; putting into practice the skills learned in class. Yet, this course being the initiator of learning the basic skills of the Spanish language, it connected with other courses where a much more advanced level of each of the objectives (writing, listening, speaking and reading) was expected. All in all, the composition class has contributed and given me better knowledge in grammar and writing. This course evoked a curiosity in writing anecdotes of my childhood to enhance the skills learned in the tenses of words.
