Many of the courses completed satisfied this Major Learning Outcome. The courses were all unique in their way, as there were different approaches to the required information taught in this outcome. WLC 300: Pro- seminar, gave a brief introduction of what literature would be analyzed in the courses and how progressively other literacy pieces from different regions would be given and the various forms of the approach in literature. Spanish 304, studied the area of Hispanic literature, poetry from Spain and Spanish America. During, this course the skilled developed, was the ability to analyze with a critical eye literary texts. Many Movements in literature, as early as the Golden age were seen in the pieces analyzed and those same movements were seen represented in the Spanish 322 readings, yet with focus on Caribbean authors. Spanish 303, had an emphasis in teaching the proper skills in writing assignments, composing essays and oral presentations, however, literature was another topic covered. The exploration of Bolivian culture practices and society was successfully taught through a short story narration. During Spanish 303, an interesting article read about the necessity of having bilingual employees and that in fact speaking more than one language benefits many aspects in our lives, motivated me to enroll in as many courses offering examinations on various literacy pieces. Additionally, many of the courses had explores in majority written work and developed critical writing and comprehension skills, however, I was eager to learn other ways to explore literature and I went on to completing most of the courses offered under that section.
The courses Spanish 306, 330, 325 and 308, explored literature in the unique matter, as they offered a section of culture, beliefs, traditional practices, videos and films, to explore other approaches in literature and represent all the cultures which composed Latin America and including those as far out as, Spain, the Caribbean, the United States southwest region and other Spanish speaking countries. The skills developed after this MLO’s requirements, audio, written and visual (critical analyzer) in different platforms in which ligature plays a part in were obtained. Some assignments that prove the abilities earned, would be my presentation on one of the early civilizations of Hispanic society and my essay on the importance of second language acquisition, after a thorough analysis of literature pieces. This two pieces of evidence, contribute to the different aspects in which literature is covered. I believe the most difficult version of learning this was with chapter readings with no visual support. I believe that words have a stronger presence when they are accompanied by visual effects. To solve the issue and to provide personal support, when trying to memorize the time and culture being described in the pieces read, I would do mini research on the topic and make annotations of the resources for further questions.
