Course Reflective Narrative:
In this course there was an examination of literature under a special area tilted as "Testimonios". This area of literature and the completion of MLO 3, was by covering collective memories, diaries, confessions and traveling accounts of people whose story were narrated. The learning outcome of this course was to have an understanding of ways of expressions in literature when working with genres, like testimonios. The testimonies that were presented in class were all serving a purpose and it was to inform the readers of social injustices or life changing events that marked not only the person whose story was narrated, but also the countries conditions. The work I accomplished in this course was a remaking of a testimony literature work, just like we had seen in the ones examined in class. The professor assigned the steps to take in order to successfully complete the same model used for the testimonies used in our class. I believe that without the narrating testimonies assignment, I would have not been able to expand my understanding of that type of literature genre. It was effective, as it provided me with sufficient skills in writing and analyzing pieces. The course focused on journaling down models used to create testimonies and reflect on those stories heard, enhancing my writing skills. This course also gave me the opportunity to learn how to analyze audio files. The most surprising aspect of learning how to analyze audio files was that it gives the transcription of an interview done to those who are willing to share their stories to create a testimonio, a deeper and greater reaction towards the reader, as the editor will keep the story as original and close to the point of every aspect shared. The strategy used for note taking of every literature piece was great because I was able to remember details of each. A skill that was learned by the assignment given in this class was being able to properly make an interview and transcribe the work, in order to make it a public piece to the others to view. After this class, I read testimonies and play close attention to what type of message it is trying to convey. The connections made in this course with others, was the technology and written skills expected to adhere as we are looking forward to doing so in our Capstone, completed in WLC 400 course.
